A set of rich colors for the pupil and the pro
I haven't played with pastels since grade school and I was just looking for a simple set to start dabbling. I LOVE the richness of the colors! The palette spectrum is great for someone who wants to experiment or who just needs a solid set of shades for more advanced projects. They blend well and you can use watercolor or charcoal pencils, or fine-tip markers for definition.

Chalking on my driveway!
I, do chalking for my neighbors, walking. Also the little ones going to school. This are so much brighter , then just sidewalk chalk. Makes my art work stand out.

Bear catching salmon
My son draws every day . He was using drawing app on iPhone but now he traces with fine black marker and then blends in color with soft pastels!! He really likes using them !!! Clean up is manageable and blending colors are vibrantly spot on for what he wants to create! Wish I could post picture he did today with this comment

Not as "soft" as others - great for the price
For starting it is a good selection of colors (you can't mix pastels to get other colors). For the price it is a good starter package. A little harder than I thought they would be.

Its a good intro product, but I would recommend buying it with the correct paper, and preferably on black paper since you have to create more colors.

Good for students.
Soft pastels worked almost as well as higher end pastels. Obviously pastels are messy and these are no exception, but a little on the extra powdery side.
Pros:
- Blends well
- Clear and bright application
Cons:
- Lower quality in color variation
- Very chalk-like in powder
- Inconsistency in texture (some break easier than others)
Overall does the job and does it well enough for a student level, but if you're already spending around the same amount, it might be worth trying the Prismacolor pastels instead of the house brand.

Not the advertised colours!
I bought this to do some sidewalk art and was very disappointed to find NO GREEN in the box, even though it is advertised on the box. I live 200 km away from my nearest Micheals and can’t even return them.
