Step 1 |
First 16 pieces of 10" [25.4 cm] bamboo cording. Set eight cords aside. |
Step 2 |
Attach eight cords to along the bottom curve of a hoop earring with a lark’s head knot. |
Step 3 |
Separate the cords in four sections of two. Make a square knot in each section. To do this:

To decrease, drop the two outside cords and re-distribute the cords into three sections of four strands. Make another square knot across the three sections. |
Step 5 |
Decrease again. Drop the two outside cords and re-distribute the cords into two sections of four strands. Make another square knot across the sections. |
Step 6 |
Decrease one last time. Drop the two outside cords and re-distribute the cords into one section of four strands. Make another square knot. |
Step 7 |
Unravel the excess strands and comb out the ends. |
Step 8 |
Use scissors to even out the ends so you have the shape of a chevron. |
Step 9 |
Open a jump ring, thread through the hole of a shell and the loop at the top, inside of the hoop ear wire. Close the jump ring. |
Step 10 |
Add a fishhook earring to the top loop. |
Step 11 |
