Step 1 |
Cut five 14" [35.6 cm] lengths of cord. Set aside. |
Step 2 |
Add two small wood beads onto your eye pin then create a simple loop on the pointed end so you have a loop on each end. Slide one bead to each end. |
Step 3 |
Fold one of the cords in half and attach to the eye pin with a lark’s head knot. Repeat with a second cord. Slide them to the middle. |
Step 4 |
Move the first cord on the left out of the way. With the second cord, make double half hitch knots. |
Step 5 |
With the forward working cord, make double half hitch knots. over the last cord. Attach the working cord to the eye pin with a lark’s head knot. Pull it tight so it fits next to the cords attached in Step 3. Release the left cord you had moved out of the way in Step 4. |
Step 6 |
Fold a third cord in half and attach to the eye pin with a lark’s head knot on the right side next to last one attached in Step 5. |
Step 7 |
Move the cord on the far right out of the way. With the cord that is now on the far right, make double half hitch knots to each cord across your work until you reach the far left. Attach the cord to the eye pin with a lark’s head knot. |
Step 8 |
To add the next row, repeat Step 6-7 working from left to right. |
Step 9 |
For the final row, repeat Step 6-7 working from right to left. |
Step 10 |
Slide a wood bead on the excess cord hanging shown from your work. |
Step 11 |
Tie a knot below the beads and trim away excess cord. |
Step 12 |
Add the wood beads to an eye pin. Make a simple loop to the end of the eye pin so you have a loop on each end. |
Step 13 |
Cut a section chain to desired length. Carefully open the loop on one end of the beaded eye pin, slide on the link at one end of your chain then close the loop. |
Step 14 |
Repeat Steps 12-13 for a second wood bead eye pin and attach to the other end of the chain. |
Step 15 |
Finally, attach each of your macramé work to your chain by carefully opening the end loops of the wood bead eye pins, sliding them through the loops on the end of your macramé work and closing the loops. |
