Step 1 |
Protect your work surface with a disposable cover, such as wax paper (or disposable foil). |
Step 2 |
Start with clean hands, unwrap, and knead clay until soft and smooth, or condition by running clay through a conditioning machine. |
Step 3 |
Sketch a lightning bolt design approximately 2" L [5.1 cm] x ½" W [1.3 cm] on cardboard (or heavy cardstock) and cut out with cutting knife for your template. |
Step 4 |
Condition ¼ block of Black Glitter clay. Roll out a sheet of clay approximately 1/8" [.3 cm] thick. Place the lightning bolt template on the sheet of clay. Cut out two lightning bolts using the knife tool. Smooth the edges with your fingertip. Make a hole at the top of each with the needle tool. |
Step 5 |
Condition ¼ block of pink glitter clay. Make two ¼" [.635 cm] balls of clay. Flatten with your finger. Use the 5 in 1 tool again to make holes at the bottom of each circle. |
Step 6 |
Preheat oven to 275 °F [130 °C] and bake the clay pieces for 15 minutes per ¼" [6.3 mm] thickness according to package directions. Allow to cool completely before handling.
|
Step 7 |
Use pliers to open the jump rings and attach the pink circles and black lightning bolts together. Squeeze a drop of super glue on the back of each of the pink circles and attach the earring posts. Allow to dry before wearing. |
