Step 1 |
First, in a well-ventilated area, spray your wood stake with polyurethane. Let dry. |
Step 2 |
Measure your plastic corrugated sheet to cut it in half, lengthwise, so it is 15" x 20" [38.1 cm x 50.8 cm]. Draw a light line with a pencil as a guide. Use scissors (or a craft knife) to cut along the line. |
Step 3 |
Now, turn the sign so the 20" [50.8 cm] is the width. Find the middle and lightly mark. Place your plastic sign over your wood stake and staple in a few places to attach. Set aside. |
Step 4 |
Design your sign in Cricut® Design Space™. Size to fit your sign. |
Step 5 |
Click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen. |
Step 6 |
Now, click ‘Continue’ in the bottom right corner of your screen. |
Step 7 |
Place your material on your cutting mat. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® and follow the prompts to cut out your design. |
Step 8 |
Cut around your design with scissors and use your weeding tool to remove excess material from around, and within, your design. |
Step 9 |
Cut a piece of transfer tape that is just a bit larger than your design. Peel away the tape’s backer paper and place the tape, sticky-side down, over the vinyl. Burnish the vinyl so that it is completely stuck to the tape. |
Step 10 |
Now, gently peel away the white backer paper and your design should now be stuck to the transfer tape. |
Step 11 |
Hold the transfer tape over your surface, to determine where and how you would like it placed; then press it onto your surface. Burnish the vinyl once more to make sure it is completely stuck to the surface and gently peel away the transfer tape, leaving the vinyl transferred to your surface. |
