Looks pretty but burns unevenly
When I fist made the candle I was happy, it was easy to make and looks pretty. However after second burn or so the wax doesn't melt evenly, it ends up clumpy and drowns the wick. This makes the kit very wasteful. I will use the holders to make other traditional candles.

Fun but not very good quality
My daughter and classmate had to make candles for a project. This seemed easy enough which it was. They made 2 candles. They kept the 3rd to show how to make in glass. We lit the 2 candles at the same time. One burned through the wick really fast so it put itself out. We has extra wax/sand so I emptied it out and started again with 1/2 the wick. Made sure we gave it enough room to be lit again and it did the same thing again. They had to take to project to school. We put plastic bags around the made candles and still the sand/wax was everywhere. My daughter kept the box straight up and didn't shake it up. The other candle didn't burn good either. Really disappointed in the quality for the price.

This kit was awesome, great, fun!!! I recommend it to anyone. Great for a homemade Christmas present if your low on money this year. To the petson who wrote the review below and dropped the wax on the carpet!! I hate to say it, but!!!, who's fault is that?? Maybe you should be more careful!

Prepare for Misery
I got this as a gift for christmas about a year ago and thought it was super neat but i just didnt have the time to try it out until recently. Honestly, I wish I had thrown the whole thing out before I tried it because it was a pain from the start. I opened up the box and the little bags of sand were all open, some of which had pretty much spilled entirely into the box. Sometimes things happen like this though so I shrugged it off and decided to use the bags that hadn't spilled. The only bags being blue and red, of course. And for some reason, that bag of dark blue sand had little cuts in it that i couldnt see until it was too late and the whole bag spilled onto the floor.
There is nothing worse than having sand barely touch the carpet for 5 minutes, and still see that carpet turn dark, navy blue. NOT recommended for: people that dont like mess, people that dont like sand, people that dont like vacuuming every day and STILL finding little round wax sand bits, people that dont like wax crushed into everything they own, people with children under 20, people with rowdy pets, people that like being happy, and just people in general. not recommended, cant express how great an idea this is but how horribly put together it is.
