great pens
The 1mm pen is perfect for filling out certificates. The ink is blacker and more archival than many liquid inks. I am just hoping Sakura keeps making them!

Amazing! You do have to know a couple of “tricks”.
I absolutely love these pens, just like all Sakura pens! Archival ink is permanent on certain surfaces, as they state on their website. I would definitely recommend anyone checking out their website before using these. There are YouTube videos from Sakura that show you how to “break in” these pens, and once you do they are nothing short of amazing!! I only wish they were a bit less expensive, and easier to find (I love Michaels, but would be nice to be able to buy these at any store that sells pens since these are the only pens I write with). I don’t know calligraphy or hand lettering, but I have seen some beautiful work come from these pens. I would love to learn how to use them for those types of things, but for now I just use them for my everyday writing. I highly recommend these, and I really suggest that you take a few minutes and search for Sakura’s video on breaking them in, and just a moment to read about the way archival ink is intended to be used! :) If you know what you’re doing, you’ll love them for sure! And, if you have problems with them, you can email the company and they will kindly help you! I didn’t know about breaking them in until I emailed, and they were super helpful!

Not good enough
Too stiff to write good lettering. Color shade was too light as well.

Not So Great
Ink was very, very dry and it was very hard to get the exact writing that I was looking for.

Not recommended. The pen tips are not all smooth
The pen tips are jagged and don't leave a uniform mark. Disappointing.

Archival is NOT permanent!!
I needed a permanent felt tip calligraphy pen. Apparently, Michaels doesn't carry them or they were out at the Harrisburg store. I'm returning this item. These pens would be great for someone who doesn't need permanent ink.

Ok
These did the job but for new pens they felt a little on the dry side, I seemed to have to go over some lettering as the edges would feather.
