Nice product but, difficult to put together. Plastic is not strong and difficult to work with.

Nice model
The purchase of this plastic model was actually a return. All parts are there. Two parts were cut from the parts branch though. Nice model.

Re-release of an older kit with F-14D parts, too.
This is a 2020 re-release of a plastic model kit first produced by Monogram in 1981. This release includes optional parts to build other F-14 variants (F-14B and F-14D).
Recommended for advanced modelers.
Like most plastic kits, this kit does not include glue or paint.
In 1/48 scale, this is a relatively big model. When assembled, it will be larger than the box it comes in.
Decals include fictional markings that represent an F-14A Tomcat flown by Lt Pete Mitchell "Maverick" and Lt JG Nick Bradshaw "Goose" in the first "Top Gun" movie.
The kit includes additional parts to build an F-14B or F-14D "Super Tomcat" (GE engine exhausts, different Vulcan cannon panel, and different chin infrared sensor pod) although they are not mentioned in the kit's instructions. Instructions for Revell's F-14D Tomcat kit which does show those parts can be found online.
Despite its age, the kit has an accurate shape. Surfaces feature subtle, raised panel lines with some recessed panel lines representing speed brakes, etc.. Cockpit and landing gear bay detail is present but basic. Expert modelers may prefer to replace the cockpit with a better detailed aftermarket resin cockpit or add 3D-printed cockpit instrument decals from vendors such as Quinta or Red Fox Studios. Although the real F-14 Tomcat had two crewmen, only one seated crew figure is included.
The variable geometry "swing wings" are movable, hinged and geared to allow the modeler to change their configuration. The canopy can be posed either open or closed. Landing gear are designed to be posed in the "gear down" (extended) position but the doors could easily be modified by removing the hinges to pose the landing gear retracted ("gear up").
External weapons include two AIM-7 Sparrows, two AIM-9 Sidewinders, and four AIM-54 Phoenix missiles. Surface roughness on some of the missile fins is present, probably due to the age of the molds, but can easily be scraped away with a sharp hobby knife.
Engine exhausts represent the F-14A's Pratt and Whitney TF-30 engines in constricted position. An additional sprue includes engine parts representing the F-14B and F-14D's more powerful General Electric GE F110 engines.
The decal sheet includes cockpit instrument panel decals for those who wish to avoid painting cockpit instruments.
For very advanced modelers, a host or aftermarket products are available for 1/48 scale F-14 Tomcats offered by many vendors including cockpits, engines, decals, photo-etch, and weapons which can be used to improve this kit.
Although the Revell kit is not as detailed as much more expensive kits produced later by Hasegawa, Tamiya and others, it remains an excellent kit at a very attractive price. The optional parts to build other F-14 variants is especially welcome.
