Mostly good.
Understanding the importance of priming my canvas was not something i considered until after my first couple of pieces of work. Once i had to push through problems that came with unprimed canvas, i realized all of the tips i heard that mentioned using gesso to prime canvas might be on to something, so i went out and purchased this product. I used it according to tutorials i found on various blogs and videos, and it made a positive difference in my ease of painting. I only took a star off because of the texture. Maybe I misunderstood the purpose of this product, but it did not decrease any roughness in my canvas whatsoever, whereas every piece of advice i sought out mentioned the purpose of gesso to be filling in canvas and make it smoother for painting. I did not expect a perfect canvas, but this product did nothing in that aspect so i took a star off. Every other aspect was spot on and i was satisfied with it.

Artist Loft Professional White Gesso
This Gesso was exactly what it was looking for. It was easy to apply, and dried very quickly! I was able to apply a second coat to the canvas. Michaels always has the best quality items for my needs.

Gesso is great for covering canvasses, but I add colour for a different background colour to set the canvass.

Great quality
I’ve stopped making my own gesso because the quality of the white Gesso by Artist’s Loft just like my own. All qualities I’d like to have from my own primer or gesso, I get from this product. Nice white and smooth gesso helps me to prepare my canvas providing great foundation for the color application. It does all you expect from White Gesso. Highly recommend!

Does and Is what it says!
This is and does everything you want in a totally ice white gesso. I love to mix it with my own colors and watch it splash and spread so deeply and in either streaks or smooth lines. Thank you for a reliable product.

Not a Fan
I used this product to prime my acrylic paint on a mini canvas. The paint seemed to stick. It didn't glide across the canvas. Previously, I was just using the pre-primed canvas as it is and liked that better. I prefer to paint on the already primed canvas and/or use a wash instead of Gesso.
