Beautiful colors, great for defined lines
This is a great product, but buy at Blick or Jerry’s Artarama for literally twice as many pastels for the price. 96 for $95.62.

This product is true to its name nupastel
They are are slightly hard to give a good edge for detailed work. Good covrage on paper, and rich color.

Vivid and a pleasure to use if a tad brittle
Pigmentation is very good and the sticks don't throw off loads of dust when used. Great for laying down a background. The sticks are a tad brittle and will break easily.

Good For Professional Pieces
I have recently become active in my art skills and these are the first pastels I have actually owned. The colors in the 24 pack alone are very useful for all sorts of pieces and I recently won an award using just these pastels. They are smooth and easier to blend than most pastels and blend easily on most papers. The only issue is that they are messy and get EVERYWHERE, but that is just the way pastels are.

Prismacolor Nupastels Great starter set
I started painting with pastels several years ago using Prismacolor Nupastels. Have since added a variety of softer pastels but continue to use the harder Nupastels. I purchased this last set to send to a good friend. She's had some major surgeries and can't get around like she used to so is looking forward to having a new medium to play with and learn about.
