pride friendship bracelet stack

This project is intended for children age 6+. Celebrate Pride through your creativity with these stacked friendship bracelets! They are fun and nostalgic, which is the perfect accessory to wear everyday or in any parade or festival!
Step 1

Measure and cut one 120" [304.8 cm] length of each of the following cords: red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue and purple (or cords of choice), for a total of seven 120" [304.8 cm] lengths.
TIP: This measurement is based on a 7" [17.8 cm] wrist. Adjust lengths of floss cord as needed.

Step 2

Gather cords together and align them so they are even. Fold them in half and tie a double knot about ½" [12.7 cm] from the fold. Tape the floss to your working space, above the knot.

Step 3

Now, separate the cords so each color is together, then arrange them so they are in rainbow order from left to right: red, orange, yellow, green, dark blue and purple (or the order you would like your stripes).

Step 4

To start the knotting process, place the red (left) cords perpendicular over the orange cords, creating a “4” shape. Next, wrap the red cord ends under the orange cords and thread through the loop of the “4” shape and pill the ends so the knot moves up to the top. Repeat for a second knot. The red cords are now all the way over to the right.

Step 5

Repeat Step 4 with the orange cords. Work them across all colors.

Step 6

Continue this pattern until you reach the bracelet length desired.

Step 7

Tie a double knot with all of the cords together just under the last knotted row.

Step 8

Make a second double knot about ½" [12.7 cm] from the previous knot and trim the ends.

Step 9

To wear, slide the last knot through the top loop.

Step 10

For each pony bead bracelet, measure and cut 9" [22.9 cm] of stretchy cord.

Step 11

Arrange pony beads how you would like your bracelets.
TIP: Use a corduroy felt sheet to lay out your beads and keep them from rolling around, when planning your bracelet. Use the image as a guide o have fun and create your own unique style!

Step 12

Thread the beads onto your 9" [22.9 cm] stretchy cord and tie the ends in a surgeon's knot, which is just an extra twist before pulling the strands tight.

Step 13
Add a dab of glue to the knot with a toothpick. Let dry and then trim the excess cord.
