pouring medium marbled letters
Step 1 |
Cover your work surface with a plastic drop cloth. |
Step 2 |
Using Titanium White acrylic paint, paint the letters. Be sure to cover all sides. Let dry completely. |
Step 3 |
Mix each of the following paints in a separate cup with pouring medium: Gold, Blue Gray, Ultramarine Blue, Light Blue Permanent, Titanium White, Silver. |
Step 4 |
Next, begin to create layers with all of the paint mixtures by pouring them into a larger cup. Pour each one several times and layer white between each to help separate and maintain brightness/integrity. Do not stir/mix after adding all layers. |
Step 5 |
Place painted letter flat on a non-stick surface, such as wax (or parchment) paper. Then pour the cup of layered paint over each of the letters, in a back and forth motion to cover the surface. Allow the paint to continue to pour over the sides of the letters. |
Step 6 |
Let each letter dry for 24 hours, then trim off the excess pouring medium paint mixture with a utility knife. |
