pastel quartzite metal stamp mom necklace
Step 1 |
Remove the jump ring attached to your copper blank charm and set the jump ring aside. |
Step 2 |
To stamp your copper charm, place it on the steel block with its hole situated at the top. Place stamp guide sticker across the charm where you want the bottom of your letters to be imprinted. |
Step 3 |
To make sure your word is spaced evenly across the charm, you’ll start with the centre letter and work outward. Place the stamp for your first (centre) letter in place on the charm; then strike the top of the stamp once or twice with your stamping hammer. Repeat this technique to stamp the rest of the letters. |
Step 4 |
For your aluminum charm, place a stamp guide sticker across the centre of the charm to secure it to the steel block. Stamp your message around the curve of the bottom. |
Step 5 |
Now, trace over each stamped letter with the black enamel marker on both charms. Make sure the enamel dips into the grooves of the stamped letters. Let the enamel set for about 1-3 minutes; then wipe away the excess with a paper towel. |
Step 6 |
Use the hold punch pliers to punch a hole in the top of the aluminum charm to align behind the copper charm. |
Step 7 |
Slide both charms onto the jump ring, copper in front, and close the jump ring. |
Step 8 |
Use a dab of glue to add a crystal to the bottom of the copper charm. Set aside to dry. |
Step 9 |
Cut the necklace down to 5" [12.7 cm] on each side of the clasp (include the clasp in your measurement). |
Step 10 |
Cut two 20" [50.8 cm] pieces of transite. Set one aside. |
Step 11 |
Thread about ½" [1.27 cm] of one end of your working transite through the last link of one side of the chain necklace. Tie a double over hand knot below the chain link. |
Step 12 |
Slide your beads onto your transite. Tuck the ½" [1.27 cm] tail into the first few beads: |
Step 13 |
Now, thread the end of the transite through the last link on the other side. Pull it tight against the last bicone bead and tie a surgeon’s knot. Slide the transite end through a few adjacent beads and trim the excess. |

Repeat Step 10 with the second transite piece through the same chain link as the first. |
