paper mistletoe wreath
Step 1 |
Cut 8" [20.32 cm] of ribbon and tie it in a loop through one of the holes in the floral ring. This will be the top of your wreath. |
Step 2 |
Start by covering your floral ring with dark green paper for a background. Cut the dark green paper into irregular pieces and glue them to the floral ring backing with rubber cement. Let dry. |
Step 3 |
Pick a slightly lighter green paper and cut it into a bunch of shapes that resemble tufts of grass. Create dimension by using foam mounting squares in some places to attach and rubber cement in others to the first layer of paper. Let dry. |
Step 4 |
Paint 1" [2.54 cm] wide red stripes on a few sheets of dark red paper for texture. Let dry. |
Step 5 |
Cut a bow and ribbon from red paper. Glue the bow to the top of the wreath (where you tied your ribbon), over the green paper. |
Step 6 |
Cut five 2" x 4" [5.08 cm x 10.16 cm] rectangles of the red painted paper and glue them around the wreath, equidistant from each other. |
Step 7 |
Finally, with lighter green paper, use your X-ACTO® knife to cut out six really wavy seaweed-like shapes. |
Step 8 |
Tuck one side of each seaweed shape between each set of ribbon sections. Create dimension by using foam mounting squares in some places to attach and rubber cement in others. Let dry and hang your wreath. |
