neutral clay wall hanging
Step 1 |
Slice some clay from each block. Knead and condition until mouldable. Blend some of the clay into various shades of neutrals. |
Step 2 |
Use an acrylic roller (or a clay machine) to roll each clay into an even sheet. |
Step 3 |
Use a texture sheet on a couple of areas of the clay sheets. |
Step 4 |
Cut into assorted shapes from both smooth and textured clay. For the grey bar shape, use your straight slicer. |
Step 5 |
Roll two pieces of Ivory clay pieces into 4" [10.2 cm], then twist together. |
Step 6 |
Plan your wall hanging, then use the small stylus tool to create holes in the top and bottom of the shapes. Pierce a hole just at the top of the twisted clay bar. |
Step 7 |
Bake the shapes for 30 minutes at 265°F [130°C]. Remove from oven and set aside to cool. |
Step 8 |
Cut a 6" [15.2 cm] piece of hemp cord. Fold it in half, thread through the top hole in the top shape, then tie into a lark’s head knot. Tie the cord ends together with an overhand knot. |
Step 9 |
Add a 6mm Copper jump ring to each hole (except the top hole with the hemp cord). |
Step 10 |
Connect each shape by the 6mm jump ring with smaller, 4mm jump rings. |
