My only other suggestion is that the area where the metal overlaps to close the shapes could be refined, as the overlap slightly alters the profile of the shapes. Might be better for these to be molded from plastic to eliminate this problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy, durable, bit of a learning curve. These are surprisingly sturdy; that was what really attracted me to them in the first place. I'm not using these for clay, I use them for soap dough, and they did very well. The other day, I had a few cured soap scraps lying around and it turns out if the scrap is reasonably thin - like a quarter inch - these can cut through it without a problem. Which means I will have an interesting decoration for the top of some lucky loaf... There is a bit of a learning curve in that a tool of some kind is needed to get the cut pieces out of the cutters, and this can leave tool marks. I generally use a plastic ball-head (or rounded-head for some of the smaller bits) fondant sculpting tool to push the punched pieces out of the cutters. I get a bit of a dent, but depending on the shape I used, that may work with the motif. The overall fact remains that the pros outweigh the cons, and I'm very happy with this product.

These cutters are the perfect size for my work. The are nicely made and sturdy enough to stand up to constant work. I highly recommend these cutters for clay work.
