This works
For all the reviews complaining the mold didn't stay together... that what thr red rubber band is for. And for the reviews complaing the plaster consistency was dry, the instructions state to add water until you have a milkshake consistency.. These complaints are user error. this product worked great.

Wish I had taken the time to read the reviews
Just awful. Poor reviews are 100% accurate. Mold is crappy, the plaster needed more water than instructed and dried way too fast. Didn't even get to the paints, since I ended up throwing it out. Very disappointed 5 year old granddaughter.

Paint was dry and book was torn
My kit came with dry paints so I had to use my own paints and book that came inside , the learning book, was torn pages, looks like it was old kit. I liked the making of the mold though, mixture did mix well.

don't purchase
The acid the kit comes with was rock solid and no matter how hard we tried couldn't get it out of the container. Without the acid, you can't make the volcano erupt. Very disappointing.

Volcano Erupts!
My nieces and nephews enjoyed the surprise end of school year gift. They were engaged in activating the volcano

Nice for 5 year old
The overall project was fun for my 5 year old to build. He had the most fun mixing the plaster and painting it when dry. The "eruption" is a little underwhelming, mostly bubbles and fizzes but he was mildly entertained.

DON'T EVEN
Words can't express how disappointing this lousy kit is. You have to duct tape the plastic mold together, otherwise the plaster leaks out and you've got half a volcano in the mold and the rest on the table. There's a reason why comments are disabled for most videos regarding this product. If there was an actual nearby volcano to throw it in I'd have done it. Instead the whole kit was in the dumpster within a half hour. DO NOT BUY IT.

Never again
First off, the ONLY reason it gets 2 stars is because my son loves the actual volcano rocks that came with it... other than that, everything was else was a problem. The mold would not stay closed together no matter how much we squeezed it and held it together, so all the plaster immediately leaked out and spilled everywhere! I don't understand why you wouldn't just make the kit with volcano mold already in 1 piece? Also, it would be a lot better if the powder was already measured out in it's own bag. We had to just throw it away and my son was devastated that we didn't get to make it erupt. I thought being National Geographic it would be much better. Great disappointment. Won't be buying anything else made from them.
