National Geographic™ Volcano Making Kit is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of fun! I purchased two for my 7 and 8yr old son and daughter. They loved the mixing and pouring. They didn’t like being patient while the volcano set but when they could paint and finally make it erupt they where extremely happy. It’s a simple science project. I used clips to help keep the mold together along with rubber band while it dried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was cool for the price It is very cool. The cast for the volcano is very cool, it’s fast drying plaster so it is a fairly quick activity. I did it for my 5 year old and she loved it. She helped me stir the plaster and then paint it afterwards. They don’t give you enough paint. The lava that they give you requires vinegar. It’s just vinegar and baking soda. We made a cooler version with citric acid and baking soda and red dye and then we just used water. The volcano could be used multiple times but may need to be repainted bc it gets discolored. Overall. It was fun after the volcano exhibit at the museum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun to build I did this with my 3 year old . It fun to mix the plaster and pour volcano. We also painted volcano rainbow. We haven't erupted it yet because we need to go buy white vinegar. Definitely feel its a good deal for price. I buy lots of craft kits.book is educational.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This works For all the reviews complaining the mold didn't stay together... that what thr red rubber band is for. And for the reviews complaing the plaster consistency was dry, the instructions state to add water until you have a milkshake consistency.. These complaints are user error. this product worked great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I had taken the time to read the reviews Just awful. Poor reviews are 100% accurate. Mold is crappy, the plaster needed more water than instructed and dried way too fast. Didn't even get to the paints, since I ended up throwing it out. Very disappointed 5 year old granddaughter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paint was dry and book was torn My kit came with dry paints so I had to use my own paints and book that came inside , the learning book, was torn pages, looks like it was old kit. I liked the making of the mold though, mixture did mix well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from don't purchase The acid the kit comes with was rock solid and no matter how hard we tried couldn't get it out of the container. Without the acid, you can't make the volcano erupt. Very disappointing.
