Step 1 |
First, place a circle charm blank onto your steel block then secure it to the block with masking tape. |
Step 2 |
Place a Stamp Guide™ sticker across your blank. Arrange it so the top of the sticker is where you want to bottom of your stamp to imprint on your charm. |
Step 3 |
Begin with the middle letter and center the metal stamp onto the charm. Use your stamping hammer to strike the top of the stamp once or twice. Continue to stamp the letter(s) on each side of the first. |
Step 4 |
Stamp the birthdates onto tag blanks. For these, start with he last number in each date and work backward up the charm. Repeat for each birthdate you wish to add to your necklace. |
Step 5 |
Once all the letters have been stamped, apply a thin coat of black enamel on top. Let it set for about 1-2 minutes and then wipe away the excess enamel with a paper towel. This will help your letters stand out from the rest of the metal charm. |
Step 6 |
Open a medium-large Gold jump ring. Slide on a birthstone and then the coordinating stamped birthdate tag. Close the jump ring around a chain necklace. Repeat for each birthdate and add to the same necklace. TIP: To open and close a jump ring, simply grasp the jump ring on both sides with chain nose pliers and twist the ring open, from side-to-side. Never pull the jump ring which can cause distortion. |

Add the initial to the necklace that goes with each birthdate with a medium-large rhodium jump ring before each tag. |
Step 8 |
Punch a hole at the top of your circle charm and attach it to the second chain necklace with a medium-large rhodium jump ring. TIP: Use the extender of the chain necklace to lengthen the necklace with the birthdates for the layered look. |
