metallic multi-strand seed bead necklace
Step 1 |
First, measure and cut a 13" piece of transite. |
Step 2 |
Tie one end to a closed jump ring in a surgeon’s knot for a secure hold. |
Step 3 |
Add a dab of glue to the knot and slide on a seed bead. Push the bead against the jump ring, hiding the knot. Tuck the excess transite inside the bead. |
Step 4 |
Thread seed beads onto transite in a desired pattern until you reach about 2"-3" from the end. |
Step 5 |
Tie the end onto another closed jump ring. Try to get the knot as close to hidden by the last bead as possible. Tuck excess transit inside the last bead. Add glue to the knot and, if desired, inside the last bead. Set aside. |
Step 6 |
Cut additional strands of transite to 15", 17", 19" and 21" lengths, then repeat Steps 2-5 for each. |
Step 7 |
Open the jump rings on one end of each beaded strand and add one to each loop on a spacer bar. Repeat for the other end on a second spacer bar. |
Step 8 |
Open one of the chains and layout on your working surface. |
Step 9 |
Measure and cut about 5" from each end (including the jump ring on one side and the lobster clasp/jump ring on the other. |
Step 10 |
Re-attach the lobster clasp and jump ring to make one chain (the clasp should be in the center). |
Step 11 |
Now, attach the chain ends to the loop at the top of the spacer bars with a jump ring. |
Step 12 |
Set necklace aside so all glue can completely dry. Share your project photos with #MadeWithMichaels |
