SIZES: Adult S/M (M/L)
 
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Head Circumference: 18¼ (21½)"
 
GAUGE: 10.5 sts x 16 rows = 4" over Stockinette Stitch; save time, check your gauge.
 
Project Note: The number of Skeins needed to complete this project is 2-Loops & Threads® Charisma™ Yarn - Red and 1-Loops & Threads® Charisma™ Yarn - Taupe 
 
Step 2
RIDGE PATTERN:

Row 1 (WS): With A, knit.
 
Row 2: Purl.
 
Row 3: Knit.Change to B.
 
Row 4: Knit.
 
Row 5: Purl.Change to A.
 
Row 6: Knit.
 
Rep Rows 1-6 for pattern.
 
PATTERN NOTES: Hat is knit flat, them seamed. 
Step 3
HAT:

With A, cast on 49 (57) sts.
 
Work Rows 1-6 of Ridge Pattern 5 times, then work Rows 1-5 of Pattern once more.  
 
Step 4
Shape crown:
 
Change to A.
 
Next Row (Row 6 of Pattern): *K4 (5), k2tog, place marker; rep from * to last st, k1 – 41 (49) sts.
 
Work Rows 1-3 of Pattern.
 
Change to B.
 
Next Row (Row 4 of Pattern): * Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker; rep from * to last st, k1 – 33 (41) sts.
 
Work Row 5 of Pattern.
 
Change to A.
 
Next Row (Row 6 of Pattern): * Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker; rep from * to last st, k1 – 25 (33) sts.
 
Work Rows 1-3 of Pattern. 
Step 5
Change to B.
 
Next Row (Row 4 of Pattern): * Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker; rep from * to last st, k1 – 17 (25) sts.
 
Work Row 5 of Pattern.
 
Change to A.
 
Next Row (Row 6 of Pattern): * Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker; rep from * to last st, k1 – 9 (17) sts.
 
Work Rows 1-3 of Pattern.
 
Change to B.
 
Size S/M ONLY: Next Row: K2tog 4 times, k1 – 5 sts.
 
Size M/L ONLY: Next Row (Row 4 of Pattern): * Knit to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, slip marker; rep from * to last st, k1 – 17 sts.
 
Work Row 5 of Pattern.
 
Next Row: K2tog 4 times, k1 – 5 sts.
 
FINISHING
 
Both Sizes: Break yarn, leaving a 12" long tail. Using tapestry needle, thread tail through remaining sts, removing markers. Pull tight. Continuing with tail, sew seam from crown to brim. Weave in ends.
