Loops & Threads™ Yarn Winder is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 209.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey but works fine for me I had been debating on buying a yarn-winder for a while and I just didn't think it was work the $32. Kept putting it off until li just decided yesterday to grab it, sad I only had a 20% off coupon, still feel like it should be no more than $15 for what it is personally. However, it worked perfectly fine for me. I held the tension on my yarn so it wouldn't be super loose. I prefer to work my projects out of cakes rather than how most usually come so this made my project last night easier. Sometimes you just can't find that center pull on a skein and it makes for a frustrating project to constantly have to pull off so much yarn from the skein. I did of course have to split my 7oz skein up because it can't hold that much at once. Only split it once. One big cake and one smaller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size and function This is exactly what I was looking for. It is small, portable, and winds yarn up super fast. I did use a 50% off coupon, so I was happy with the price I paid and quality. If I had paid full price, maybe I wouldn’t have been as happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price This is my first yarn winder. I did watch some youtube videos about this one, and didn't have any major problems. Of course one have to get used to keep tension steady and other minor details. Although it feels a little toy-ish, did a pretty good job out of a pound. I've got 4 perfect cakes from the first try. Make sure to first watch some videos to learn how to handle this piece.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works okay Does the job well enough for small to medium skeins. However you'll have lots of trouble with the yarn slipping off the skein as you go if you wind too fast, wind too slow, have it on an unstable surface(such as a portable folding table), or if the yarn is slippery and doesn't stick to itself well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a reliable winder I had a hard time using this winder, yarn would fall off the ball during winding. There were no instructions on the best way to direct or hold the yarn to make it work well. Had to go to you tube to find help and they only showed winding yarn from pre-wound yarn (purchased in package type-not true loose hanks of yarn). Then when finally got it wound, as I knit and the ball got smaller it tangled terribly, spent hours untangling and ended up winding myself. I bought a different brand that is amazing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for..... This is a decent winder. It does take a bit of tinkering to figure it out. It will do up to 5 ounces but barely. 4 - 4.5 ounces would fit no problem. It does take playing with it and a few YouTube videos to figure it out. The first half does look a little messy but you have to stick with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible The center is too wide and causes the yarn to fall in on itself. The balls are so loose it causes the yarn to get really knotty. I also had to cut a 6oz skein into three balls because things got so knotted. I’d really prefer not to have so many knots in my projects due to having to reconnect yarn ends thank you very much. :(
