Loops & threads silk pins, and odd uses
While these pins are meant for fabrics and strings, I use them for shadow boxing small insects. They pierce the exoskeletons very well and do not squish the abdomens hardly at all while pinning the insects to the shadow box.

thickest "silk" pins I've ever used
I didn't make an account when I bought these so this won't show up as a verified review but I bought 4 boxes of them online and picked them up in the store. I have an older set of silk pins that I use for pinning quilt blocks to piece, and I love them because they're so thin, but I needed more when I ran out so I could pin strips onto all the blocks for this quilt and chain piece. Started pinning with these this morning and they are *not* what I would consider silk pins. They are far thicker. If I'd bought them lebeled as normal pins that would have been fine, but I switched to silk pins long ago for a reason. I'm going to keep them for if I hem the curtains or whatever but I took a chance on a brand I'm not familiar with and the results were not good.
