Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for making chunky throw blankets These were the perfect size for my very first knitting project. Using jumbo size yarn, I was able to make a soft chunky throw blanket for my sofa.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic I bought these to use rather than arm knitting. They worked perfectly. Only wish they were either a bit longer or there was a circular needle option. I also bought the jumbo crochet needle. I am buying more for Christmas gifts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thick Arms, Perfect Gauge. I was looking to make my Sister-In-Law one of the thick yarn blankets. I got the yarn I needed, started arm knitting and couldn't get the stitches as tight as I wanted them, my fore arms are to fat to achieve the look I wanted. So I thought I would give these needles a try, the blanket came out PERFECTLY! I definitely recommend these as an alternative to arm knitting. I do wish they were a little bit longer to accommodate more stitches, but I managed and didn't have trouble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Wood Needles - Able To Make Into Circular I needed some jumbo needles to knit a blanket using the Bernat Big Blanket yarn. They may be on the heavier side but the yarn moves easily on them. I didn't want to have blanket seams but thanks to their solid construction I was able to turn these into circular needles without spending a fortune. I took a jig saw and cut off the block ends. Went down to the hardware store, spend a few dollars on 92 in of electrical cable. Sanded the ends so they were smooth. Drilled about 1/2 in deep hole in the center of each flat end using 3 drill bits, working up to the cable size. The cable fit snugly but I used gorilla glue to glue the ends in. Finally wrapped with electrical tape from the wooden end down a little bit on the cable. I now have a giant circular needle for blankets and they work VERY well!
