Step 1 |
Measure and cut two 14" [35.56 cm] pieces from two suede leather cords and two from the chain spool. |
Step 2 |
Cut two 16" [40.64 cm] pieces of the round leather cord. |
Step 3 |
Attach one end of each chain pieces a loop on a spacer bar. Repeat with the other end on a second spacer bar with jump rings. |
Step 4 |
Slide beads and tubes onto cords as desired. Tie knots in the round leather cords as you add beads for a little added interest. |
Step 5 |
Add a dab of glue to three tube ends. Slide in two leather cord ends into each. Let dry. |
Step 6 |
Gently stretch out your cords and make sure the lengths are all even with each other and with the chain. Trim, if needed. |
Step 7 |
Repeat Step 5 on the other end of the leather cords. |
Step 8 |
Attach the cords to the remaining loops on the spacer bars with jump rings. |
Step 9 |
Add a jump ring to the top loop on one spacer bar and a jump ring with a lobster clasp onto the loop on the top of the other spacer bar. Set aside. |
Step 10 |
Place a circle charm blank onto your steel block then secure it to the block with masking tape. Place the tape so it is across the charm and the top edge is where you want the bottom of your letters to go in the first line. |
Step 11 |
Begin with the centre letter in your word place the metal stamp onto the charm. Use your stamping hammer to strike the top of the stamp once or twice. Continue to stamp the letter on each side of the first letter. |
Step 12 |
Move the masking tape down and repeat Step 11 to add the second line. |
Step 13 |
Once all the letters have been stamped, apply a thin coat of black enamel on top. Let it set for about 1-2 minutes and then wipe away the excess enamel with a paper towel. This will help your letters stand out from the rest of the metal charm. |

Attach your stamped charm to the loop onto the drop metal tube bead. |
