leather and pearl earrings
Step 1 |
Cut two 2" pieces of leather lacing and to 3" pieces. |
Step 2 |
Straighten out the leather pieces and wrap in a damp paper towel, then wrap again in a dry one. Set a book on top for a few hours. Remove the leather and let them dry. |
Step 3 |
Make two freshwater pearl bead dangles. Slide a pearl onto a headpin. Make a simple loop above the bead and trim excess wire. Set one aside. |
Step 4 |
At both ends of each leather piece, punch a hole. |
Step 5 |
Open a large jump ring. Slide the jump ring through the hole on one end of a 2" and 3" leather piece. Now, slide the loop at the top of one bead dangle onto the jump ring. Be sure the pearl dangle is up against the shorter leather cord. |
Step 6 |
Bring the short leather piece around and slide onto the jump ring. Repeat with the longer piece. |
Step 7 |
Add a fishhook earring and close the jump ring. |
Step 8 |
Repeat Steps 4-7 for your second earring. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
