I learned how to crochet!
This beginner's kit really helped me learn how to crochet. It has great patterns and lots of pictures. It gives directions for right and left handed crochet which is nice but I found it a little distracting.

New to crochet
I have knitted, sewed and look knitted before. Never tried crochet. Now I'm 'hooked' lol (couldn't resist). It is a great size to start with and the book has some helpful tips. I Wil recommend though if you are a very visual learner you tube is amazing at showing you what to do.

Instructions are good but could be better.
The nice thing about the instructions is they show both right and left-handed diagrams. However, as a complete beginner I still didn't "get" some of what they were saying. I went to you tube and watched a short video and that cleared up a couple things I didn't understand. You'll probably still need to practice a lot before trying to make a completed project (I'm still practicing!). Including some of the split-ring markers in the package would make this better, as I kept dropping stitches until I marked the beginning and end of each row.
