impressart® personalised beaded stamped necklace
Step 1 |
For the rectangle bar pendant, pierce a hole at the top two corners of the rectangle blank using the 1/16" [0.15 cm] punch of the two-hole screw down hole punch. Simply turn the handle of the screw down punch until the punch pierces through the stamping blank. Twist the handle of the screw down punch in the opposite direction to raise the punch and remove blank. |
Step 2 |
Place the rectangle blank horizontally on stamping block. Secure a straight stamp guide on blank. Use the guidelines to evenly space out letters and align stamp impressions. |
Step 3 |
Place stamp on blank. Lightly drag stamp towards the guide until the stamp catches the edge of the guide. Hold stamp flat and firmly in place by anchoring the side of your hand on workspace. Then strike stamp once with medium force using your hammer. Repeat to complete desired word. Remove stamp guide. |
Step 4 |
Now, for the tiered circle pendant, pierce a hole in the top centre of both circle stamping blanks using the 1/16" [0.15 cm] punch of the two-hole screw down hole punch. |
Step 5 |
Place the ¾" [1.9 cm] circle blank on stamping block. Adhere a small circle stamp guide along the top of the blank. Use the guidelines to evenly space out letters and align stamp impressions. |
Step 6 |
Place stamp on blank. Stamp desired word on blank. Remove Stamp guide. Repeat on remaining 1" [2.5 cm] blank, using a medium circle stamp guide. |
Step 7 |
Highlight impressions with enamel. Wait 3-5 minutes and then wipe away the excess enamel from the surface of the blanks. |
Step 8 |
Use flush cutters to cut the pre-made chains at the desired locations. |
Step 9 |
String beads onto a piece of stringing wire. Place a crimp bead onto the end of the strand. Then thread the wire through a link of the chain and back through the crimp bead. Use a bead crimper to secure the strand in place. Repeat on other side of necklace. |
Step 10 |
Use the tips of two chain nose pliers to grasp the sides of a jump ring, with the opening of the jump ring facing up between the two pliers. Laterally twist each side of the jump ring in opposite directions to open the ring. Slide circle blanks, in size order, onto jump ring making sure that the stamped sides of the blanks are facing the same direction. Then position desired bead strand location in the jump ring. Laterally twist the jump ring back with tension to close. |
Step 11 |
Repeat jump ring technique to connect the chain together as well as the rectangle bar pendant. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
