Make your shoes extra stylish with a personal flare using a fun marbling technique! Grab your DecoArt® Water Marbling supplies and we'll walk you through the steps to get started.
Step 1 |
Remove laces from shoe. |
Step 2 |
Wash canvas shoes in warm water with no fabric softener. Let completely dry. |
Step 3 |
Apply surface prep to shoes as directed on the jar and let completely dry. |
Step 4 |
Prepare your marbling water (or "size") using DecoArt® Magic Medium as directed on the jar. |
Step 5 |
Stuff the inside of the shoe with newspaper to plump up the outer show area. |
Step 6 |
Mask off any areas with painter's tape you do not want marbling. |
Step 7 |
Use your water marbling paints to create a pattern on the surface of the water. |
Step 8 |
Holding the shoe at approximately 15° angle, slowly dip it into the water until the surface of the shoe is fully covered in paint. |
Step 9 |
Lift the shoe out of the water and set aside to dry. |
Step 10 |
Using cleaning papers, clean the water to prepare for the next shoe. |
Step 11 |
Repeat Steps 5-9 for the other shoe. |
Step 12 |
Remove tape. |
