heart seed bead bracelet

Make this trendy Heart Seed Bead Bracelet using 11/0 seed beads. Use an assortment of finishes and pair with a chain for a unique look.
Step 1

Thread your needle onto a 54" [137.2 cm] length of beading thread.

Step 2

Click here to download the diagram and follow as you work.

Step 3

Brick stitch 21 beads to make your base row. This row will be in the middle once you have completed your work.
TIP: To brick stitch, first add two beads to your thread. Then:

  • Slide them down to about 6" [15.24 cm] from the end.
  • Run your needle and thread down through first bead in the opposite direction. Weave thread through both beads again for a tight hold.
  • Add another bead then run the needle through the previous bead in the opposite way it previously exited. The new bead will “snap” into place parallel to the first two.
  • Run your needle and thread up through the new bead.
  • Repeat until you have a total of 21 beads.
Step 4

Turn your work so the working thread is coming out of the top left bead. Pick up a bead with your needle, run it below the “bridge” of thread that straddle over the second and the third beads. Run thread back up through the second bead, down through the first bead and back up through the second.
TIP: By skipping the first “bridge” and starting with the second creates a decrease. As you work each row up, the beads will continue to decrease to create the triangle shape of the top of your earring.

Step 5

Pick up a bead. Run your needle and thread through the next “bridge” of thread straddling the next set of beads and back up the same bead. Repeat across the top of the beads.

Step 6

Repeat Steps 3-4 for each row as shown in the diagram.

Step 7

Work your needle and thread through the beads along the outside edge until your needle exits from the bottom of the outside most bead on the same side of the first half of the shape.

Step 8

Now, flip your work and repeat the same technique for the second half of your work.

Step 9

Work your needle and thread through several beads to secure, then cut excess thread.

Step 10

Cut chain down to size for your bracelet.

Step 11

Sew four metallic beads on each side to form loops and include the end of a chain piece on each side.

Step 12

Add toggle clasp.
