Print Project

Step 1

First, click here to download and print the template; then cut out the shape. Set aside.

Step 2

Paint the dowel. Let dry. Set aside.

Step 3

Cut one 1”x11” [2.5 cm x 27.9 cm] strips from the yellow, green and blue cardstock.

Step 4

Cut two 1”x11” [2.5 cm x 27.9 cm] strips from the red and orange cardstock.

Step 5

Cut ten 1”x11” [2.5 cm x 27.9 cm] strips from the white cardstock.

Step 6

Lay one white strip vertical on your workspace and then line one white strip to the right edge of the white strip. Continue lining up the remaining white stripes. Align them all to the top and place a strip of masking tape at the top to secure it to your workspace.
TIP: Use image as your guide for placement.

Step 7

Using one of the red strips, weave the strip through the white strips and push the red strip to the top of the taped white strips.

Step 8

Repeat Step 6 with the remaining strips until you have reached the bottom of the white strips. Make sure to have the woven strips tight.

Step 9

Trace the heart pattern onto the woven pieces. Cut out the heart and carefully lay it back on your workspace.

Step 10

Make loops using the scraps and glue them to the heart. Let dry.

Step 11

Place the painted dowel through the loops and hang.

Instructions
Step 1

First, click here to download and print the template; then cut out the shape. Set aside.

Step 2

Paint the dowel. Let dry. Set aside.

Step 3

Cut one 1”x11” [2.5 cm x 27.9 cm] strips from the yellow, green and blue cardstock.

Step 4

Cut two 1”x11” [2.5 cm x 27.9 cm] strips from the red and orange cardstock.

Step 5

Cut ten 1”x11” [2.5 cm x 27.9 cm] strips from the white cardstock.

Step 6

Lay one white strip vertical on your workspace and then line one white strip to the right edge of the white strip. Continue lining up the remaining white stripes. Align them all to the top and place a strip of masking tape at the top to secure it to your workspace.
