Not everyone loves dressing up in full costume or has time to make something elaborate. This DIY shirt is a “punny”, two-step project that meets any "costume requirement" without having to paint your face or wear a wig! Step 1 Prep the shirt by placing a piece of cardboard inside so that paint will not bleed through to the back. Step 2 Create the dye effect on the t-shirt by brushing watered down paint across the shirt from the bottom working your way up. The more water, the lighter the paint, but the easier to spread across the fabric. To replicate a candy corn pattern, start with yellow across the bottom, blend into orange and leave the top third of the shirt white. Let dry. TIP: Set the shirt with cardboard in it outside in the sun to help speed up the drying process. Step 3 To create the saying on the shirt, click here for the design in Cricut® Design Space™. Step 4 Click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen; then mirror the design and click ‘Continue’ in the next screen. Step 5 Place the iron-on material, shiny-side down, onto your cutting mat. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting. Step 7 Once your machine is done cutting each color, use scissors to cut your design from the iron-on material rolls. Next, use your weeder tool to remove all the excess material around and inside your design. You’ll be left with just the reversed design on the clear plastic carrier sheets, which are slightly sticky. Step 8 Follow the package instructions to iron-on your design to your shirt.
