halloween boo-ti-full friendship bracelet

Get the kids and their friends together to make Halloween Friendship Bracelets! Paired with glow pony beads and cording, they can make several for themselves or trade them for a unique bracelet stack!
Step 1

Measure and cut one 72" length of each of the following cord colors: black, purple, white, lime and orange (or colors of choice), for a total of five 72" lengths.

TIP: This measurement is based on a 7" wrist. Adjust lengths of floss cord as needed.

Step 2

Gather cords together and align them so they are even. Fold them in half and tie an overhand knot about ½" from the fold. Tape the floss to your working space, above the knot.

Step 3

Now, separate the cords so each color is together, then arrange them so they are in order that you would like your stripes.

TIP: Mentally label your cords, from left to right, as A. B. C, D and E. For the example shown, black (A), purple (B), white (C), lime (D) and orange (E).

Step 4

To start the knotting process, place the A (black) cords perpendicular over the B (purple) cords, creating a “4” shape. Next, wrap the A cord ends under the B cords and thread through the loop of the “4” shape and pill the ends so the knot moves up to the top. Repeat for a second knot. The A cords are now all the way over to the right.

Step 5
Repeat Step 4 with the B cords. Work them across all colors.
Step 6

Continue this pattern until you reach about 1½" of knots. Tie an overhand knot, slide on a glow-in-the-dark pony bead and tie another overhand knot.

Step 7

Thread “BOO” onto the two white cords and “TIFUL” on the two black cords. Tie another overhand knot about 2" from the last knot.

Step 8

Add another glow-in-the-dark pony bead and tie another overhand knot. Start your knotted stripes again for another 1½".

Step 9

Tie an overhand knot, thread on two glow-in-the-dark pony beads and yet another overhand knot. Trim ends about 2" past the last knot.

Step 10

To wear, slide the last knot through the loop t the other end.

Step 11

If desired, cut a 15" piece of thread from each of the same colors, thread glow-in-the-dark pony beads and tie overhand knots on each side of the beads. Tim ends to about 2½" on each side then tie onto your wrist.
