Step 1 |
Cut the 24" [61 cm] necklace down to 1¾" [4.4 cm] on each side of the clasp (total chain 3½" [8.9 cm]). Cut two 1½" [3.8 cm] pieces from the excess chain. |
Step 2 |
Carefully open the jump ring that attaches the clasp to one 1¾" [4.4 cm] chain piece, and slide on the last link of one end of a 1½" [3.8 cm] chain piece; then close the jump ring. |
Step 3 |
Carefully open the jump ring that attaches the other 1¾" [4.4 cm] chain piece to the extender chain, and slide on the last link of one end of the other 1½" [3.8 cm] chain piece; then close the jump ring. |
Step 4 |
Add a jump ring to each of the chain ends. |

Cut two 20" [50.8 cm] pieces of transite. Set one aside. |
Step 6 |
Thread one end of your working transite through a crimp bead, then through a closed jump ring at the end of a 1¾" [4.4 cm] chain, and back through the crimp bead. Pull the bead tight against the jump ring with about a ½" [1.27 cm] tail. Squeeze the crimp bead with your chain nose pliers. |

Slide your beads onto your transite. Tuck the ½" [1.27 cm] tail into the first few beads: |

Now, thread the end of the transite through another crimp bead, then through the jump ring on the other 1¾" [4.4 cm] chain, and back through the crimp bead. Pull the bead tight against the last spacer bead. Thread the excess through several adjacent beads. |
Step 9 |
While holding the transite tight, squeeze the crimp bead with your chain nose pliers. Trim excess transite. |
Step 10 |
Repeat Step 6 with the second transite piece onto a 1½" [3.8 cm] chain. |

Slide your beads onto your transite. Tuck the ½" [1.27 cm] tail into the first few beads: |
