These mark pretty smoothly and blend really well using your fingers or a tissue. The attached eraser works well unless the line is particularly strong. Can't really go wrong here.

Perfect for sketching over acrylic paint!
Does exactly what I bought for- sketching over acrylic paint. It erases clean and I like using the white over dark backgrounds when painting. I also like that it doesnt show through the paint when i paint over it.

Good chalk pencils but...
These pencils are nice and soft for marking all kinds of surfaces, but unfortunately the softness means the leds break easily when trying to sharpen them.

Why you should buy chalk pencils
