Pastel Chalk Pencils
They write well but their point is very thin and they kind of scrape the chalkboard almost so you can see a faint outline of what you write. The eraser does work though and it’s nice that the pack comes with 2 pencils!

Better with texture
Nice to write with - more control than typical chalk, easier to erase and less potential for mess than chalk markers.
However, it’s much better on textured chalkboard surfaces than smooth. With smooth surface it is less opaque and will squeak some while writing.

The perfect tool to chalk out a design
I use these to free hand draw a design on base coat painted surfaces. Shows up well, easy to erase and disappears under acrylic paint.
