I've used stencils as a kid for general use for markers/pencils but I started a new project using paints. I had a little bit of difficulty using paints with the stencils. I had a few spots where the paint bled.

Not impressed
Not impressed with the variety of stencils offered in-store. Sizes were either way too big or way too small. Got this stencil but never used it for my project because I was not completely in love with the font, but it was the only thing I could find that might have worked. Ended up cutting my own paper stencil to use instead. Not worth it.
