felt face mask
Step 1 |
First, click here to download and print the template; then cut out the shapes. |
Step 2 |
Fold a piece of felt in half. Lay the patterns on the folded felt and cut out. |
Step 3 |
Working with the larger pieces first, place a line of hot glue along the curved area and attach it to the matching side. Make sure your glue line is not to small and is continuous as you want the mask completely sealed. |
Step 4 |
To make the coffee filter insert you will fold the filter in half and lay it over the mask area. Fold over the filter edges so it lines up with the felt. Use hot glue to hold the filters shape. Trim off the excess filter then, place the filter into the mask. |
Step 5 |
Cut four pieces of grosgrain ribbon that are 17" long or length needed to fit, and tie, around your head. |
Step 6 |
Glue ½" of the ribbon ends to the corners of the mask. |
Step 7 |
Use hot glue to attach the remaining two pieces of felt over the ends with the ribbon as an extra reinforcement. |
Step 8 |
Place the mask on and tie the ribbons to secure it to your face. TIP: To keep it in place, make sure the top ribbons lay on and over the tops of your ears. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
