fall floral and paper garland
Step 1 |
Cut leaf shapes out of cardstock. Keep the leaves approximately 3"- 6" [7.6 cm-15.2 cm] long. The leaves can be cut by hand depending on your skill or creativity or with any cutting machine. Set them aside. |
Step 2 |
Unroll a piece of wide burlap ribbon to use as the base. Determine how long you would like your garland and add an extra 8" [20.3 cm] to each end. Fold each end over and cut a “V” to make a dove tail shape. |
Step 3 |
Lay some berry stems down the centre of the burlap ribbon. Cut off the long stem leaving about 3" [7.6 cm]. |
Step 4 |
Cut pieces of jute that are about 8" [20.3 cm] long and use them to tie the berry stems to the burlap ribbon. Trim off any excess. Position and bend the stems giving the garland shape, depth and movement. |
Step 5 |
Tuck Reindeer moss throughout the garland adding a softness and green tone. Use hot glue to hold it in place. |
Step 6 |
Cut off heads of a snowball bush and accent the garland along with Sola flowers. Position these to be the focal part of the garland and use some hot glue to hold them in place. |
Step 7 |
Finish the garland by curling the paper leaves with your fingers or a pencil and tucking them into the garland. Once you like their placement, use a dab of hot glue to hold them in place. |
