Pros and cons painting with WSO
Bought this product due to love of oil painting with a need for easy clean up while traveling. It’s buttery and lovely to paint. However I need to caution to not use water as a thinner. My paintings from before Xmas are still sticky. Must still use an oil to thin and spread to avoid the lack of drying. The clean up can be with soap and water.

Love this product.
I use Artisan water Mixable oils and have for years. I started with Acrylic but love the water mixable oils. They blend better in the canvas

Not a Favorite
I was excited but skeptical that "water mixable" oils would work...and I was right about being skeptical. It just doesn't feel right. I tried them after using regular oils and there isn't a comparison. Regular oils are just better as far as I am concerned. I found mixing the Water Mixable Oil not to be very blendable...like mixing oil with water. It felt like I needed to "whip" it in order for it to be smooth, like oil salad dressing! I was hoping it would work out, sadly, it didn't. I'm returning them.

I Would Purchase Them Again
I bought this set because I wanted the fun and ease of oils without the need for chemicals to clean up or long dry times. These paints do exactly as stated -- they take with water rather nicely and they also played nicely with acrylic paints. I will continue to use these paints in the future but the downsides to consider include: dries fast - one of my canvases dried over night) and there is no black in the starter kit.

Use if you are new to painting with oils
I got these paints because I wantwd to be able to paint with oils but not have to deal with the annoying clean up that comes with regular oil paints. These paints actully work really well! It was strange to use at frist because with this brand it doesnt really want to thin out using a thinner? Idk if its the paints or the thinner im using? but either way they work for what i need!
