easter critters place card holders
Step 1 |
Step 1 First, cut an 8" wire for each place card needed. |
Step 2 |
Step 2 Hold one wire piece against your ring mandrel at about 2½" from one end. |
Step 3 |
Step 3 Take the other end and wrap it around your ring mandrel twice to make the double loop that will hold your place cards. TIP: Your wire ends should be pointing in opposite directions from each other. |
Step 4 |
Step 4 Slide the wire off of the ring mandrel. Bend the non-wrapping wire end to a 90° at the intersection where the two wires cross, below the double loop. |
Step 5 |
Step 5 Take the wrapping wire end and wrap it around the wire, below the double loop, two (or three) times. TIP: This wire is tough so use needle nose pliers to wrap. |
Step 6 |
Step 6 Trim the wrapped wire end and squeeze it so it is flush against the wire and shape the wire as needed. |
Step 7 |
Step 7 Push the wire end of your place card holder into the foam head of your Easter critter. |
Step 8 |
Step 8 Make one for each place card needed and set aside. |
Step 9 |
Step 9 Click here for the design in Cricut® Design Space™. Design your guest’s names and attached them to the shapes; then let your Cricut® machine use the calligraphy pen to write on cardstock and cut out the place cards for you. TIP: If you do not have a Cricut® machine available, find a shape you like and trace it onto white cardstock, then cut out. You can use the Gold calligraphy pen to hand-write your guest’s names. |
Step 10 |
Step 10 Slide your place card into the double loop wire and set out on your Easter table. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
