Print Project

Step 1

Prewash T-shirt without fabric softener, and do not dry.

Step 2

Cover work surface with plastic table cover.

Step 3

Lay out T-shirt on covered work surface.

Step 4

Starting at one shoulder, pull shirt into a tube shape. Use zip ties to tie shirt into several sections.

Step 5

Mix dyes, following package instructions.

Step 6

Lay tied shirt on pastry cooling rack on top of covered work surface.

Step 7

Starting at top tied section, apply first dye colour, keeping dye approximately ½" [1.27 cm] from zip ties. Alternate dye colours on each tied section.

Step 8

Wrap dyed T-shirt in plastic table cover and let set 6-8 hours.

Step 9

Rinse T-shirt until water runs clear. Wash according to package instructions. Remove zip ties and dry.
