Diamond Tech G2 Bottle Cutter is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly Brought this cutter home and put it together in less than 10 mins! Scored 2 btls and dipped them in boiling and then cold, alternating just 2-3 times and the bottoms of the bottles popped right off! I was discouraged reading a few of the other reviews but decided to try it for myself. So glad I did. If you have basic knowledge of crafting you can do this with no issue!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This item was terrible! It didn't work. Kept falling apart and didn't score the glass very much. Part of the wing nuts broke off. I returned it to the store today. That's the first time I have ever returned anything to Michael's store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product works great! We had been looking for something that would cut wine bottles that are tapered and it can be accomplished with this cutter. Score the bottle, run hot water over it from a coffee pot then submerge in a pitcher of cold ice water, then dry off and run more hot water over and submerge into the ice water again. May take 2 or 3 times but it will just come apart! We also used rubber bands on each side of the score but we have successfully cut large magnum(1.5L) sized wine bottles as well as regular 750ml size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked better than I expected Easy instructions, and provided you use gentle pressure, it works better than expected. I’ve only cut beer bottles so far, and found that provided they’re clean, they cut perfectly. The only time I experienced inconsistent cutting was when I didn’t get all the sticky glue off from under the label.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't expect perfection without practice. I've only tried cutting 7 bottles so far. None of the 7 have cut perfectly. I've researched this type of product quite a bit, so I know that that is normal and is a result of user error/learning curve. There are going to be wonderfully talented/coordinated people out there who would have 5 or 6 or 7 out of 7 perfectly cut glasses. I was surprised by how little cutting you actually do on the bottle. One little trip around with the blade and then send it off to the hot and cold baths. (And that's probably where part of my problem is. I would forget where I was and send it around again.) Once you get to the bath part, it's like practicing magic tricks. (I'm obviously a squib.) I did learn that the water needed to be boiling, or nearly there to work. I annoyed myself quite a bit trying to get my first bottle to break with water that was probably just hot enough for a good cup of tea. Once it started boiling, things moved a lot quicker. I'm going to keep practicing. I know I'll figure this out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Takes a little bit of time to learn, but it is wonderful. So many things you can make out of wine bottles and beer bottles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Drink more wine I must drink more wine so I can use this glass bottle cutter. No problem! Then will use the clear bottles for string of patio lights and colored bottles for a bottle “tree”.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made a few shot glasses, after a lot of practice This product is actually better than I expected, sturdy if you assemble it carefully and works great if you take the time to learn it. HOWEVER-- you have to learn a complex multi-step process to do it. There are lots of steps that can go wrong. I'm not surprised that it has a lot of negative reviews, not many people will have the patience for this. But that just makes it feel more rewarding once you finally get it working. My advice is to read the 6 pages of instructions multiple times. There's a lot of information in there that's easy to miss, like adjusting the side bar properly, how a lite touch works best, oiling the cutter, the part about using the light to find the score run, etc. Have some bottles to practice on. Be prepared to dispose of broken and chipped glass and use protective eye-wear. Expect to do a lot of sanding on the cut edges (it could have included more sand paper). Most of all plan on spending several hours and several bottles learning how use it.
