crow skeleton cauldron pumpkin
This creative pumpkin makes the perfect ghoulish décor element. Use the image as inspiration to create your own filled cauldron! Be sure to cover your working surface as this project is a bit messy.
Step 1 |
In a well-ventilated area, use a hotknife to cut off the top portion of a pumpkin. Discard the cut top. |
Step 2 |
Working in sections, cover the outside of the pumpkin with modeling paste. Pour sand over the wet modeling paste. Once the entire outside of the pumpkin is covered with sand, let it sit overnight to completely dry. |
Step 3 |
Now, paint the inside and outside of the pumpkin with black matte craft paint and let dry. |
Step 4 |
To add a handle, poke two holes on the top sides with a pencil. Cut a piece of naturally coiled wire and place it through each hole making a handle. |
Step 5 |
Fill the cauldron with dry floral foam and Spanish moss. |
Step 6 |
Add a crow skeleton and other accents to finish. |
