cricut® infusible ink™ big/little t-shirts
Cricut® Infusible Ink™ is new technology that results in permanent and professional transfers. The easy to use material cuts beautifully with your Cricut® machine and use your Easy Press™ 2 to heat transfer! Love your lil/big with these t-shirts and see for yourself just how vibrant the colours are when transferred!
Step 1 |
First, click here for the design in Cricut® Design Space™. |
Step 2 |
Now, click on the ‘Text’ icon in the left panel and then type the names for you shirts. Choose your font, weld (if needed) and centre it over the ‘BIG’/’LIL’ designs. |
Step 3 |
Click ‘Make It’ in the upper right corner of your screen. |
Step 4 |
In your preview screen, check ‘Mirror’ in the left panel for each mat, to reverse your image. |
Step 5 |
Click ‘Continue’ in the bottom right corner of your screen and choose the correct material. |
Step 6 |
Place the Infusible Ink™ material, ink-side up, onto your lightgrip cutting mat. Load the mat into your Cricut® machine, then press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting. |
Step 7 |
For the glitter iron-on vinyl, place your material, shiny-side down, onto your cutting mat; then, load the mat into your Cricut® machine and press the blinking Cricut® icon to start cutting. |
Step 8 |
Once your machine is done cutting each mat layer, use scissors to cut out each piece of your design from the transfer sheet and iron-on rolls. |
Step 9 |
Next, remove all the excess material around and inside your design. You’ll be left with just the reversed design on the clear plastic carrier sheets, which are slightly sticky. |
Step 10 |
Preheat your EasyPress™ to the appropriate temperature for your material and, if needed, adjust the timer. |
Step 11 |
Lay your shirt on top of your EasyPress™ mat and smooth it out with your hands. Now, insert a piece of cardstock inside your shirt to prevent bleeding to the back as well as protect your mat from any excess ink. |
Step 12 |
Place a sheet of butcher paper (included with your transfer sheets) on top of your shirt and preheat the fabric for 15 seconds to remove any moisture. |
Step 13 |
Remove the butcher paper from the top of your shirt, place your black transfer ink design on your shirt (ink-side down) and replace the butcher paper over your design. |
Step 14 |
Carefully place your EasyPress™ over your design. Hold in place with gentle pressure. |
Step 15 |
After 45 seconds of heat, carefully remove your EasyPress™. Again, try not to move your design. Let it cool for about a minute or so and then remove the backing from your shirt. |
Step 16 |
Place the bright green transfer ink design on your shirt (ink-side down) and replace the butcher paper over your design. Repeat Steps 14-15. |
Step 17 |
Adjust the temperature and timer on your EasyPress™ to account for the glitter iron-on cut-outs in your design as noted in the interactive guide. |
Step 18 |
Again, add the sheet of butcher paper over your design, place your EasyPress™ on top, apply the appropriate pressure for your material and press the time button. If your material is the warm peel type, you may go ahead and peel off the carrier sheet. If your material is a cool peel type, let it cool completely before removing the carrier sheet. |
