Print Project

Step 1

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 61¼" [156 cm] x 91¼" [232 cm]
GAUGE: 12 sts x 16 rows = 4" [10.2 cm] in pattern; save time and check your gauge
NOTES: A temperature blanket creates a beautiful striping pattern that reflects the changing of the seasons. It’s created by crocheting one row per day, usually for a full year. For each row you will use the yarn that corresponds with the temperature outside that day. You can use the highest temperature of the day or an average temperature for the day, it’s up to you. The stripe sequence usually begins on January 1st and ends on December 31st of a given year. However, you can begin yours at any time of the year, or you can use the temperatures recorded from a previous year. You can follow the pattern as written to create the same blanket shown in the sample, or you can create your own stripe sequence based on the chart provided. Keep in mind, yarn amounts required could vary if you chose to change your stripe sequence.

Step 2

INSTRUCTIONS:
With first yarn, ch 185.
Setup: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn – 184 sc.
Row 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a st throughout), sc in first 2 sts, *ch 4, sk 4 sts, sc in next 4 sts; rep from * to
last 6 sts, ch 4, sk 4 sts, sc in last 2 sts, turn.
Change to next yarn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sts, *working in front of the ch-4 sp, sc in next 4 skipped sts, 2 rows below**, ch 4, sk next 4 sts; rep from * to last 2 sts, ending last rep at **, sc in last 2 sts, turn.
Change to next yarn.
Row 3: Ch 1, sc in first 2 sts, *ch 4, sk 4 sts, working in front of the ch-4 sp, sc in next 4 skipped sts, 2 rows below; rep from * to last 6 sts, ch 4, sk 4 sts, sc in last 2 sts, turn.
Change to next colour.
Rep Rows 2-3 for pattern.

Follow the below temperature to yarn conversions to create your own stripe sequence:
- 90°F [32.2°C] and above = Bright Red
- 80-89°F [ 26.7-31.7°C] = Ginger
- 70-79°F [21.1-26.1°C] = Orange
- 60-69°F [15.6-25.6°C]= Butter
- 50-59°F [10-15°C] = Sage
- 40-49°F [4.4-9.4°C] = Arctic
