
coral + stripe clay earrings
Step 1 |
Slice a piece of black, white, Raspberry, and Tangerine clay from each block. |
Step 2 |
Knead and condition until mouldable. |
Step 3 |
Roll out the white, black and coral clays to about 1/8" [0.3 cm] thick. |
Step 4 |
Roll small snake-like logs of black clay. Lay them across your white clay and flatten with a roller or clay machine to create stripes. |
Step 5 |
Cut two circles from coral from one size circle cutter and two white and black striped from a little larger circle cutter. |
Step 6 |
Use the semi-circle cutters to cut the bottom shapes from the black clay. |
Step 7 |
Use a small stylus tool to create a hole in the centre towards the top of the striped circles and in the centre towards the bottom of the coral circles. Now, make a hole on the top inside edge of the semi-circles as shown. Line up the striped circle and make holes that line up with the semi-circle holes. |
Step 8 |
Bake for 30 minutes at 230°F (110°C). Remove from oven and set aside to cool. |
Step 9 |
Glue an ear post to the back of each coral circle and let dry. |
Step 10 |
Use a jump ring to attach a striped circle to a coral circle; then use two more jump rings to attach the semi-circle to the bottom of the striped circle. |
Step 11 |
Repeat Steps 9-10 for a second, matching earring. |
