coin counting clock
Kids can learn to tell time and count money with a fun clock made with coins!
Step 1 |
Use a round object (such as a dinner plate) to trace a circle onto a 12"x12" [30.48 cm x 30.48 cm] piece of paper. Cut out the circle. |
Step 2 |
Draw and cut out arrows from a scrap sheet of paper. |
Step 3 |
ADULT: Attach the arrows to the centre of the circle with a brad. |
Step 4 |
Count out the coins, using the pennies, nickels, and dimes to represent numbers on the clock. TIP: For example, one o’clock is represented by one penny. Six o’clock is represented by a nickel and a penny. |
Step 5 |
Glue the coins onto the clock using a glue stick. (If you’re worried that the glue stick isn’t strong enough to hold the coins, don't worry! It is!) TIP: Practise moving the hands of the clock and adding up the coins. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
