Good idea if directions & photos more clear
Not enough step by step explanation in directions. Also needs closer up pictures of where it says to wrap the tying yarn to secure the pom-pom & tie it off.

Awkward to use, sizes are misleading
I used the "large" size, which was supposed to make a 3-3/8" pom-pom, but the result was less than 2-1/2 inches. Also, the instructions are unclear, making the whole thing very clunky to use. I have gotten far better results making pompoms using improvised disks of heavy cardboard. And this was over $7. Not worth the price.

these are awesome! beats using cardboard by 1000, i keep wrapping the yarn until i dont see any space on the side when closed and i got full poms! theres a youtube video how to use as well

Very vague Insturtions
Very vague instructions. Would be nice if there was a link to a tutorial. These arent the small pom poms and they were not very big at all. Cant imagine what how small the actual small ones would be.

Uniform shape with least effort
I can make pom poms the old fashioned way. But I hate to do that. The reason is, they never turned out circular. I don't know why I had to trim them. It took me forever to get them to look good. This pom pom maker has been the best I've tried. I may have to do a snip here or there because of a stray thread, but otherwise, the come out round. I just made a pillow where I to make 9 large and 9 x large pom poms. It went quick and painless thanks to these pom pom makers. I highly recommend this product.

Best pompom maker I've tried
I was looking for a pompom maker that I can use for a project with many people. I needed to be able to show people how to use it quickly and have them be able to turn out a good pompom at the first try. These work well. Easy to wrap the yarn quickly. It holds things together well while you're cutting and tying. It works best if you wrap kind of tightly. The hardest part is teasing it apart when you're done. I just wish they made a size between the large ones and small ones.
