circle and hexagon clay pendant necklace
Step 1 |
Slice a piece of black, white, Pacific Blue, Cherry Red and Tangerine clay from each block. |
Step 2 |
Knead and condition until moldable. |
Step 3 |
Add a little black clay to your conditioned Pacific Blue clay to make navy. |
Step 4 |
Roll out each color into different thicknesses of snake shapes, lay them next to each other, vertically, in the following order: white, Tangerine, Chery Red, navy and white. Use an acrylic roller, or clay machine, to flatten and blend as shown. |
Step 5 |
Roll out more navy to about 1/8" [0.3 cm] thick and cut a medium-small circle. |
Step 6 |
Roll out more Tangerine to about 1/8" [0.3 cm] thick and cut four small circles. |
Step 7 |
Use a small stylus tool to create a hole in the center towards the top of the hexagon and small circles; then on two sides of the medium-small navy circle, as shown. |
Step 8 |
Bake for 30 minutes at 230°F (110°C). Remove from oven and set aside to cool. |
Step 9 |
Use a jump ring to attach the hexagon shape to one of the holes in the medium-small navy circle. |
Step 10 |
Cut a piece of chain to desired length. |
Step 11 |
Add a jump ring to one end and jump ring with a lobster clasp to the other end. |
Step 12 |
Find the center of your necklace and add the hexagon pendant to the center with jump ring. |
Step 13 |
Use jump rings to add two Tangerine circles, evenly spaced, to each side of the hexagon pendant. Share your project photos with #MakeItWithMichaels |
