Personalise a holiday nutcracker to fit your home décor and decorating style. Use some paint, glitter and fur to customise the wood piece.

Print Project

Step 1

Paint a solid coat of white over the entire nutcracker to seal the wood. Let dry.

Step 2

Begin to paint the main areas. It will take several coats of paint for full coverage. Remember to let the paint completely dry between coats.

Step 3

Once the main paint areas are completely covered, add glitter to the areas as desired. To do this, paint on a coat of Mod Podge® and sprinkle the glitter while it is still wet. Let dry and shake off excess.

Step 4

Now to add some details like the fur, pom-poms and/or ribbon, cut the desired length and use hot glue to attach. Make a Gold glitter paper crown to go around his hat, then embellish it with some gems.

Step 5

Paint on a face and let dry.
